We are not an agent or recruiter, but a headhunter !

Indian authorities are looking to further ease the visa application process for Chinese technicians, who are very sought after by the Indian manufacturing industry. Such an initiative was prompted by Indian employers, who reported visa challenges for Chinese professionals.

Around 83 percent of Indian industries reported talent shortages, with the construction sector facing the highest shortage at about 85 percent.

The Indian government is planning to further facilitate visa approval for Chinese professionals and technicians needed by the Indian industry for manufacturing, as a senior official told The Hindu newspaper.

Such an initiative was prompted by Indian employers, who reported visa challenges for Chinese professionals and requested the Indian government to ease the visa process, VisaGuide.World reports.

An industry representative noted that issues arise when authorities require a university qualification certificate for Chinese professionals. According to him, experts may lack such documents as they acquire expertise through years of practical experience in a specific field.

We are requesting the Indian authorities to facilitate the visa approval processes for Chinese professionals. We need them for things like installation of machines, increasing quality and productivity in manufacturing lines only.

The Indian government has already implemented a standardized operating procedure (SOP) to streamline visa approvals for Chinese technicians needed by vendors participating in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

In this regard, a senior official told the newspaper that the Indian authorities are looking at possibilities of further facilitating this process.

Within the existing system, there is an SOP now to expedite visas for Chinese who are to come in to help set up manufacturing capacity in India. We have already streamlined it quite a bit, now we are trying to see whether it could be done for them.

The PLI initiative, which was launched in 2021, covers 14 sectors, including telecommunications, white goods, textiles, manufacturing of medical devices, automobiles, specialty steel, food products, high-efficiency solar PV modules, advanced chemistry cell battery, drones, and pharma with an outlay of ₹1.97 lakh crore (approximately $26 billion), according to authorities.

According to Statista, in 2022, around 83 percent of industries in India reported facing talent shortages, with the construction sector experiencing the highest shortage of skilled labor at around 85 per cent.

Other sectors that faced a high percentage of talented shortages were IT and technology (84 per cent), manufacturing (84 percent), wholesale and retail trade (84 per cent), banking and finance (83 percent), education, health and government (83 percent) and restaurants and hotels (78 percent).

Foreigners who wish to live and work in India, must secure a job offer in the country and then proceed with their India visa application.
